Gary Edwards Pogue
August 31, 1934 - June 30, 2008

Gary was born to J.J. Pogue Jr. and Ruth Edwards Pogue of Pawnee, Texas. Eleven months later his younger brother Lacy, entered his life. Gary began his schooling at Pawnee, attended college at Schreiner, and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University. It was at Baylor where he met the love of his life, Ida Mae McIver. They were married in 1955 in San Antonio, Tx. and lived in Pawnee where their first daughter Lisa was born. A few years later they moved to Kenedy where their second daughter Laura was born. Gary, hands full with his wife and daughters, managed to start a small but successful seed business which today touches international markets. Gary's vast knowledge of the seed business earned him many agricultural related awards and honors throughout his life. But the ones he was most proud of were those given to him by his wife, children, family and loved ones. The many Father's Days, birthdays, and Christmas celebrations were times of laughter and fun. With the addition of Keith, Alex, and Luke, the happiness only grew. Wonderful, new memories were being made each of which enriched Gary's life and made him happier and prouder.
