Jemalong Medic

Selected from Australia, Jemalong has proven its ability to perform throughout the Southern Gulf Coast region of the United States. Soil types range from mixed to well-drained clay soils with a pH of 6 to 8. Best growth occurs at a pH of 6 to 7. If planted early, it can produce a substantial amount of forage in the fall.

Jemalong begins flowering in mid to late February and matures in late April. With good drought tolerance, excellent reseeding abilities, and early maturity, Jemalong is a very good choice for fall planting in warm season perennial pastures.

Jemalong provides excellent forage for all types of livestock and wildlife. Protein values are as high as 26-30%.
